Professional Bio

Chief Don White is a lifelong resident of Lenoir City, Tennessee, and a graduate of Lenoir City High School. He continued his education at Roane State Community College, the University of Tennessee, and the University of Virginia. From 1988–1993, he worked with the Department of Energy at the Y-12 Nuclear Weapons Facility before joining the Lenoir City Police Department in 1993. His dedication to narcotics enforcement led to his service as a Task Force Officer with the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Knoxville Resident Office from 1999–2006.

In January 2006, Don White was appointed Chief of Police with the Lenoir City Police Department. He has completed numerous leadership programs, including Roger Williams University (2008), the Tennessee Law Enforcement Executive Development Program (2011), the University of Tennessee Executive Leadership Program (2012), the East Tennessee Regional Leadership Program (2013), and the FBI National Academy, Session 260 (2015). In 2009, the Tennessee Association of Chiefs of Police (TACP) named him Chief of the Year.

In November 2012, Chief White was appointed Director of Public Safety for Lenoir City, overseeing the Police, Fire, and Codes Departments. He serves on the Loudon County E-911 Board, the TACP Executive Board and Finance Committee, and the Boards of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club and Lenoir City Committee 100. He is active in the Young Life Program of Loudon County and is a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police and the National Emergency Number Association.
