Professional Bio
Assistant Chief Jack Burgett began his law enforcement career in 1998 with the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office and graduated from the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy in 1999. After working several years in the private sector, he joined the Mount Pleasant Police Department in 2007 as a patrol officer. Over the years, he has served as Sergeant and Detective before being promoted to his current role of Assistant Chief of Police more than 11 years ago.
Assistant Chief Burgett holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Administration from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and a Master of Arts in Communication Studies with an emphasis in Organizational Leadership from the University of Alabama. He has earned the Tennessee Association of Chiefs of Police (TACP) Level 4 Leadership Certificate, along with numerous other professional certifications.
