Professional Bio
Chief Jason Head has 28 years of law enforcement experience, serving with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, Clarksville Police Department, the United Nations Mission in Kosovo, and the Springfield Police Department. Since joining the City of Springfield in 2006, he has served in multiple roles, including Patrol, Bicycle Unit, SWAT Team Commander, and Administration, before his appointment as Chief of Police.
Chief Head holds both a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a Master of Science in Criminal Justice Administration from Bethel University. He represents the City of Springfield and Robertson County on several boards, including the Robertson County 911 Board and the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System (TCRS) Board of Trustees.
He is an active member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), where he serves on the Training and Education Committee. Through his leadership, education, and service, Chief Head continues to demonstrate his commitment to advancing law enforcement professionalism and enhancing public safety for the Springfield community.
