Professional Bio
Chief Jeremy Myers has served as Chief of Police for the Tazewell Police Department since 2018. He joined the department in 2010 and has served as police officer, corporal, training officer, investigator, lieutenant, acting chief, and now Chief of Police. At age 33, he became the youngest police chief in the city’s history.
Chief Myers began his law enforcement career in 2006 with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office. Over the years, he has built experience in patrol, investigations, training, and leadership, and continues to guide the department with a focus on professionalism and community engagement.
Beyond policing, Myers is active in his community. He serves on several local boards, is deeply involved in his church, and even drives a substitute school bus for the local school system. His commitment to public service extends into his personal life, where he and his wife are the proud parents of several children, including two adopted through the state foster care system.
