Professional Bio
Chief Jerone Holt is a 1981 graduate of Dickson County High School and a United States Marine Corps veteran, having served from 1982 to 1985. He began his law enforcement career with the Dickson Police Department in 1985, where he rose to the rank of Detective, before joining the Fairview Police Department in 1997 and advancing to Captain over the Criminal Investigations Division.
In 2010, Holt was appointed Chief Deputy with the Dickson County Sheriff’s Office. A decade later, in December 2020, he accepted the role of Chief of Police with the Burns Police Department, where he continues to serve the community with humility and dedication.
Chief Holt has completed numerous leadership programs, including FBILEEDA, FBILEEDS, the TACP Level 4 Leadership Certification Program, and Dickson County Leadership. In 2024, he was appointed to the Tennessee Association of Chiefs of Police (TACP) Executive Board to fill a vacant seat and was formally elected to that position in August 2
