Professional Bio
Jonathan Bryant's career in policing spans over 30 years, and he was recently appointed in July as the new Chief of Police in Lenoir City after retiring with 25 years as Executive Chief of Police from the Chattanooga Police Department.
Chief Bryant is a graduate of the prestigious FBI National Academy, the Police Executive Research Forum- Senior Management Institute for Police, and the University of Tennessee Law Enforcement Innovation Center- Southeastern Command and Leadership Academy. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Bethel University, a Master of Public Safety Degree, and a Graduate Certificate in Criminal Justice Education, both from the University of Virginia (UVA).
Since 2018, he has been an active member in the TACP and was elected to serve as its SACOP (State Association Chiefs of Police) Representative in 2024 and currently serves on the Executive Committee and to the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP)- Southern Region. Before his current position, he served on both the Leadership/Membership and Training Committees for the TACP. His membership in the IACP, the Police Executive Research Forum, the FBI National Academy Associates, and the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association further demonstrates his dedication to his profession.
